Teignmouth Webcam
Eastcliff located on the northern end of Teignmouth seafront has an NCI station that operates 2 webcams one faces SW towards Babbacombe Bay, Watcombe Caves and Long Quarry. The second camera faces NE towards the Parson and Clerk and the wreck of the Galicia approx 2 miles east of the Clerk and into Lyme Bay.
The first camera also covers the entrance to Teignmouth Harbour and is a useful gauge as to whether it is safe for vessels of all sorts to leave Teignmouth. Between the 2 cameras we get a really good appreciation of the sea conditions in the local area and whether it is diveable or not.
Bear in mind it is quite possible for Teignmouth seafront to appear quite rough but Babbacombe bay to be much calmer due to the protection offered by the cliffs of Oddicombe etc.
We would like to thank the Teignmouth National Coast Watch Institution NCI for having their cameras and their watchful eye over all of us at sea! Take a look at the Teignmouth NCI site here
