Greleen Wreck Dive in Lyme Bay
The SS Greleen was a large cargo vessel sunk in 1917 laying approx 7 miles NE of Berry Head. She lays in 43m of water and is a very popular dive from Teignmouth.

The Greleen was transporting iron ore from Bilbao, Spain to Middlesbrough when she was torpedoed on her port side, midships by Oberleutnant Howaldt in his UB-40 just off Berry Head at 04:45. 
Because of the nature of her cargo she sank rapidly. The crew jumped overboard and 7 men were picked up some 4 hours later by the Norwegian S.S. Bob and came ashore at Torquay. The master, passenger and 17 crew were lost.
She is intact with only a few holes. Her stern gun is still on her but broken from the mounting pedestal.
Built as the Blairmore (Photo below is of the Blairmore) in 1894 at Harland and Wolf renamed Ballater before being renamed Greleen.
