Long Quarry Reef is a popular 10m reef dive in Torbay / Lyme Bay. With loads of marine life including Nudibranch's, soft corals, sponges, crustaceans and load of fish life.

 The Long Quarry forms the NE side of Ansteys Cove and is approximately 1 mile SW of Babbacombe bay. Long Quarry was a Limestone Quarry that was cut into the cliffs between Babbacombe and Ansteys Cove. Consequently a lot of the reef around the Quarry is comprised of huge slabs of Limestone. The effect of this is a lot of nooks and crannies full of marine life and generally a brighter dive site as the limestone is whiter and harder than the usual red sandstone of Torbay.

This site is ideal for Open Water Divers and more experienced divers looking to experience some of the South Devon marine life and beautiful coastline.

Ansteys Cove was always a popular tourist beach pre war and post war and used to have a walk way that linked it to Redgate beach and the cove was protected by Long Quarry point which is now a popular coastal climbing and coasteering site. Below is a postcard of Redgate beach Circa 1950
