The Eddystone Lighthouse is 12 miles south-south-west of Plymouth. The lighthouse that stands on the rock was built by James Douglass in 1882 and stands 40.5m above sea level. The light can be seen 20miles out to sea and flashes twice every 10 seconds. The diving on the reef around the Eddystone Lighthouse is some of the best diving in the South of England. The reef is full of marine life and is a paradise for underwater photographers.
