The Bretagne was transporting her cargo of coal from Barry, Wales to Rouen, France when she was struck near her stern by a Steamer in thick fog. A passing fishing boat managed to take some of the crew off her and began to tow her to land but unfortuntaely she nose-dived to the seabed. She is upright and and quite well preserved.
