Sea Horse Filming.... 

Early one Friday morning, a group of our divers ventured over to Dorset to aid the BBC in their filming project of the elusive sea horse. According to the Sea Horse Trust, a large family of approximately twenty sea horses are currently living in the Eel Grass just off Studland. These beautiful creatures are over seven centimetres in length and can be seen in the shallow waters of the area, amongst the tall fields of eel grass.

Our divers met in the early hours of the morning, and set off to get to Studland by ten am to meet the BBC film crew. Although the weather was not quite up to what a typical beach day should be, our divers thoroughly enjoyed a day out working as safety divers for the BBC team. Shaldon local Alec Collyer did the underwater filming of TV presenter Alex Bushill which will be aired on the local news at a later date. The elegant sea horses found in this area are protected, and the Sea Horse Trust is working hard to promote their ongoing safety from trawlers and boats. (All images Courtesy of Steve Trewhella)
