Once again, we have completed another successful Enrichment Week with several of the local schools in the area. Over eighty youngsters participated in the program this year and were lucky enough to enjoy their Open Water scuba dives in the radiant sunshine!

The week started out with confined water sessions held at the outdoor Lido in Teignmouth. The kids, all aged between 12 and 16 had their first experience of breathing under the water and were all beaming at the end of the session. Several hours were spent in the pool learning to clear masks and regulators, hovering and swimming! We succeeded in making a new record of the number of people to fit in a pool on the second day of the confined water sessions! Almost ninety fully-kitted bodies in the pool at one time is a record that will not be achieved again soon!!

Students and staff had fun during the remainder of the week down on Watcombe Beach, where activities were in full swing. More than twenty staff joined in the excitement and have even jumped at the chance to do it all over again next year. The visibility was fantastic and the dives were thoroughly enjoyed by students and staff alike. The café was open from the early hours of the morning serving delicious burgers and fries all through the day.

Over 70 of the students were certified by the end of the week with many already talking about returning to spend the summer holidays diving! The handful that did not complete suffered mainly from ear problems and will be returning to finish their dives at a later date. The youngsters, teachers and staff had an enjoyable Enrichment Week in the clear waters and sunshine of Devon!

What a fantastic way for them to finish off their last week of school!
